When it comes to establishing a presence in search results through your blog, we know consistency is key – but when you're running an organisation, it can be easy to let content creation fall by the wayside.
This is where a custom content provider can come in handy (not that we're biased*) – this can help ensure you're getting great blog posts out there on a regular basis and can make sure you're performing as effectively as possible.
Here are three ways you can make it easier to blog regularly, with or without the help of a content provider.
Schedule a time to post regularly
Even if you don't post every day, it is important to keep fresh content coming in regularly – at least a few times a week. If you make a commitment to publish new posts at specific times (like every other day, Tuesdays and Thursdays or even daily at 11 AM – whatever works for you) and stick to it, you'll be on your way to blogging success.
Create a calendar
A content calendar is a great idea regardless of whether or not you use your blog for SEO purposes. Committing to regular posts means that you'll not only need to come up with great topics to write about, but keywords to target – these might stay consistent, or vary by season.
A calendar can help focus your ideas and create a schedule. It doesn't need to be fancy or complicated – a simple list of your headlines, the expected date you will publish the article and the targeted keywords you want to include in each post will help you make sure you never get stuck with writer's block.
We know that Google's algorithms reward sites with fresh, frequent content updates, but you also want to get people talking about what you post online. One of the best ways to do this is to share links to your posts on social media.
By tweeting your headlines or summarising the week's top posts in a Facebook update – with links back to your site, of course – you open up the potential audience who might see your articles and draw them back to your website.
